Through shroud and shadow,
he approached
Ominous and imposing,
he stood before me
I thought to cower but,
curious fear held me frozen
Eyes transfixed,
a feeling of anxiety rose within me
He stepped closer,
into the light
Knuckles white from clenched fists
Face marred by hate,
eyes dark and fiery with anger
In shock I stared
He was I
Beaten by fate,
forgotten by love
I gazed into my future
